6 - Le chemin de fer de Laon et son tramway / The Laon Railway and its tramway.

Lors de la Première Guerre mondiale, le tramway et son infrastructure subirent d'importants dégâts. L'occupant, lors de son retrait en 1918,  dynamita et fit sauter la plus grande arche du viaduc, démonta les rails et dispersa les motrices entre l'Allemagne, la Prusse orientale et la Pologne. L'exploitation ne reprit qu'en 1923 pour cesser à nouveau en mai 1940 lors de l'exode de la population. Pendant toute la durée de la seconde guerre mondiale, le trafic fut important, mais en 1944, le quartier de la gare fut bombardé et le terminus du tramway aussi.

During the 1st World War, the tramway and its infrastructure suffered considerable damage. The occupant, when he retired in 1918, dynamited and blew up the largest arch of the viaduct, dismantled the rails and dispersed the engines between Germany, East Prussia and Poland. The exploitation did not resume until 1923 and stopped again in May 1940 during the exodus of the population. Throughout the Second World War, traffic was heavy, but in 1944, the station district was bombed and the tram terminal was bombed.
