L'abbaye Saint-Wandrille, anciennement abbaye de Fontenelle est une abbaye bénédictine fondée en 649, sur la rive droite de la Seine. L'abbaye a connu une longue histoire marquée par trois grandes périodes de saccages et de destructions : celles liées aux incursions des Vikings, puis celles par les guerres de Religion et enfin celles consécutives à la Révolution française. C'est encore aujourd'hui une abbaye de moines bénédictins.
The Abbey of Saint-Wandrille, formerly Fontenelle Abbey is a Benedictine abbey founded in 649 on the right bank of the river Seine. The abbey has had a long history marked by three major periods of looting and destruction: those related to the incursions of the Vikings, then those by the Wars of Religion and finally those following the French Revolution. It is still today an abbey of Benedictine monks.
