Surprise dans la cour d'une usine, en zone industrielle de Laon : un autorail. Je rentre alors dans la cour de l'usine pour demander l'autorisation de le photographier et la secrétaire me demande d'attendre son patron.Le directeur sort de son bureau et je renouvelle ma demande d'autorisation de photographier l'aurorail présent dans la cour de son usine. Il prend alors un trousseau de clef et me demande de la suivre. Durant le cour chemin, il m'explique que cet autorail est un prêt de la Cité du Train de Mulhouse et de la société Dietrich. L'autorail avait été prêté à une célèbre société de boisson américaine qui l'avait repeint tout en rouge. La condition du prêt étant que l'autorail soit remis dans sa livrée originale. Historiquement, ce fut l'autorail présidentiel des présidents de la IV° et V° républiques, René Coty et Charles de Gaulle. A ma grande surprise, le directeur ouvre l'autorail et m'invite à y monter. L'intérieur est spartiate : une salle de réunion et de travail, une chambre pour le Président et une petite pièce, en fait un local pour les gendarmes chargés de sa sécurité. 

Immatriculé ZZy 24817, pui XD-2511 en 1938 lors d ela création de la SNCF, puis X-42511 en 1962. Cet autorail est équipé d’une partie salon avec cuisine et chambre à coucher. Nous sommes loin des fastes de la V° république depuis plus de 40 ans !!!

Surprise in the courtyard of a factory, in the industrial zone of Laon: a railcar. I then go into the factory yard to ask permission to photograph it and the secretary asks me to wait for her boss.The director leaves his office and I renew my request for permission to photograph the aurorail present in the courtyard of his factory. He then takes a keychain and asks me to follow it. During the course, he explains to me that this railcar is a loan from the Cité du Train of Mulhouse and the company Dietrich. The railcar had been loaned to a famous American beverage company that had painted it all red. The condition of the loan is that the railcar is returned in its original livery. Historically, it was the presidential railcar of the presidents of the IV° and V° republics, René Coty and Charles de Gaulle. To my surprise, the manager opens the railcar and invites me to go up there. The interior is spartan: a meeting and work room, a room for the President and a small room, makes it a room for the gendarmes in charge of his security. 

 Registered ZZy 24817, then XD-2511 in 1938 during the creation of the SNCF, then X-42511 in 1962. This railcar is equipped with a living room with kitchen and bedroom. We have been far from the glory of the Fifth Republic for over 40 years !!!
